Hauntings of the Imaginary #2 is a body-sized crypt-like object utilized to identify and query ideals and limitations pertaining to corporeality. While the work has fixed external form, limited by a brutish and familiar materiality, it is employed here as a framing device for an internal space. This is where the work’s main focal point lies and where the body that is absent designates the haunting qualities of the space. Through the opening of a physical and psychological subterranean space, the work becomes a site imbued with imagination, mystery, enchantment, wonder, and perhaps a de-limitation of the rationally impossible.
